2-Chlor-3- (Hydroxymethylen) Cyclohex-1-Enecarbaldehyd ist ein Faktor-Rezeptor-Inhibitor, der das Wachstum von Krebszellen hemmt. Es wurde gezeigt, dass diese Verbindung den epidermalen Wachstumsfaktor (EGF) und die Tumorzellproliferation in vitro durch Wasserstoffbrückenbindung mit der aktiven Stelle des EGF -Rezeptors hemmt. Es hemmt auch das Tumorwachstum in vivo, indem es auf den EGF -Rezeptor abzielt. Es wurde auch gezeigt, dass 2-Chlor-3- (Hydroxymethylen) Cyclohex-1-Enecarbaldehyd in vitro Brustkrebs, Prostatakrebs und Dickdarmkrebszelllinien hemmt.
